Hello! I’m Cheryl Brown, a self-taught baker who turned a simple home-kitchen idea into a cozy coffee house and bakery here in Alma, Nebraska. What started as late-night prayers for a little extra income quickly grew—thanks to the support of family, friends, and our community—into Dragonfly Desserts: a place where small-town charm meets big flavor.

At Dragonfly Desserts, we believe in doing things the right way. That means pastries made from scratch every single day. It means brewing high-quality coffee drinks, crafting seasonal flavors, and making sure everything we serve is fresh, flavorful, and worth sharing.

Our menu includes a full coffee bar, pastries, breakfast, lunch, and of course, custom cakes for every celebration. Located near the Harlan County Reservoir, we’re proud to be a favorite stop for both our neighbors in Alma and the “lake-day crowd” who return season after season.

The name “Dragonfly Desserts” came from a spark of inspiration (and a suggestion from my mom!) and now reflects what we aim to be: a place that feels light, welcoming, and full of life.
